Mobile Office: The Spa

"During"

Okay, I can’t really say I was doing the ‘mobile office thing,’ but I can say that I worked in the parking lot until the last possible second and I took my phone into treatment with me. Am I crazy?!

My First Facial

Necessity? No. Luxury? Yes!

Believe it or not, I thought I’d hate it. My guys had given me a gift certificate (aren’t they great?) and I had an array of choices, but I chose the facial. Why? Pure curiosity!

"After"

Because just enjoying a facial is harder for me than one might think, after taking a call, I asked the esthetician to take a picture of me as proof that I did it.

I was hoping the goop on my face was green (‘the mask’ she called it)… and she took off whatever was over my eyes since I needed to see the key pad on my phone, but the picture on the upper right is my evidence.

Well, I’m not sure what happened to me energetically, but I did notice some blue sparks flying and I definitely felt better as you might note in the second picture to the left. 🙂

Taking your phone into treatment is against the rules, but… Okay, I have no excuse. The esthetician is to be given extra points for putting up with me.

It was a fabulous experience. Thanks Crystal! Check it out here!

Mobile Office: Happy Thanksgiving

This special day is specifically set aside to draw our focus to an energy and intention that is one of the most powerful in terms of harmony, growth and awareness.

Giving Thanks: Gratitude

As an energy, I can honestly say that this has been the most powerful in my growth not just as an energy worker & intuitive, but as a person. The therapeutic benefits of changing your lens to one of gratitude seems to create a rainbow cascade of perception. In terms of personal nourishment, I would consider it in the ‘essential’ category.

Compost (L) versus No Compost (R)

.

I’m reminded of my garden because I love to compost. When I was establishing my garden in our new home, I moved my compost pile to an empty bed at the front of my house and the flowers in that bed were about 5X bigger than the flowers anywhere else in my yard.

You can see that something similar happened this year with the development of my back yard. The flowers on the right were missed and the flowers on the left benefited from my kitchen scraps. ————>

.

It speaks to me of positive feedback loops and how, even through recycling of ‘waste,’ we are in humble relationship with everything around us. To hold gratitude for that symbiotic relationship is foundational for survival, and so much more than a holiday.

Enough email were received in reply to the quick note I sent out about my Thanksgiving that I needed to post an update. In my email, I mentioned my mother-in-law’s dessert and so loose versions of her recipes are below:

Apple Pie:

She used a pre-bought crust, Mac apples, cinnamon, no sugar and her ‘secret ingredient’ is tapioca instead of flour to thicken it up. She probably baked it for about an hour at 400 degrees F. (I can milk her for more if these details are too sketchy. Let me know.)

Lemon Loaf:

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 lemon rind
1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk

Mix in the order given and bake at 350 for 1 hour. Drizzle a mixture of the juice of the lemon & 1/4 cup sugar over it while it’s still warm. Another ‘secret’ substitution is getting rid of the cow milk for something not containing lactose for digestive reasons.

Enjoy!

Thank you October TelEvent

Inner knowingness, acceptance of responsibility, acceptance of what is, realistic, balanced, anchored, motivated, creative, well paced… These are some of the words used to define this month’s topic:

Empowerment

True empowerment comes from an appropriately self-centered place where external ‘props’ do not hold undue influence over your sense of well being. Some common props include:

  • Approval from others: boss, spouse, friends
  • Shopping: clothes etc.
  • Food: consuming unconsciously

False empowerment will leave you feeling empty, unfulfilled, like you need to chase the next exciting person or event. Although emotions are a rich part of life and living, empowerment is not about chasing the good feelings or running away from the bad. Empowerment will sustain you and it was compared to sugar:

  • Real empowerment is similar to complex carbohydrates which will sustain your energy levels
  • False empowerment is similar to simple sugar which will give you a fast rush, but drop you just a quickly

There is a flow and a positive foundational spiral that comes from experiencing empowerment that enhances & builds your confidence, self-esteem and resilience. Holding your Higher Vision helps you maintain personal congruence and build upon this feedback loop:

Empowered Feeling –> Empowered Choices –> Empowered Action

Mobile Office: Up North

NWT Oct 2010

On the Border

It was the first time in over 1.5 years that I’ve been without phone or internet! *gasp* ~ AND, I lost my identity (literally).

Disconnect Internet ~ Reconnect Nature

It was high time to ground into the world differently & this opportunity couldn’t be missed! I went to see my brother and saw a whole lot more:

  • The aurora borealis: we searched each night and came up lucky on the last night!
  • A different pace, perspective & part of Canada
  • The view from a kayak including: bald eagle, deer & raven
Great Slave Lake

Great Slave Lake

This was a quick dash up to the Northwest Territories for the weekend that really changed the pace at the mobile office and started with 14 hours of driving (each way).

In hindsight I’m finding it pretty funny about ‘my identity.’ This is great! You can read all kinds of crazy energy interpretations into it: I left my wallet in a town called High Level that was my last stop prior to arrival. I had no money, ID, etc. as well as no phone, no internet… in short everything that I currently have to self-identify was gone. Isn’t that the best way to enter into newness? With a blank slate? I love the Universe!

NWT Boat

Checking out a retired vessel now landlocked.

.

Aside from some prep work, the work done was more:

  • meditative & contemplative
  • unwinding & supportive
  • exploratory, assessing and eye-opening.

It is so easy to have tunnel vision when you focus on goals, tasks & aims and it is pretty important to also have some distance & space. Without that:

  • nuances will be missed
  • angles will be overlooked and
  • excitement is lost

Coming back from a town with a population of 2,000 is also a bit disorienting when stepping back into an area where I’m surrounded by about a million folks. It’s an interesting sensation to plug back in!

By the way, my wallet was turned in where I left it & all of the contents were intact.
